8. My other Donations and Gifts

I do have other loans, donations and gifts. Some in this countries, and some in poor neighboring countries.
But as this blog is about my relations with my old University NTU especially my donations, I won't talk more about these other ways I helps others.

7. Donations in Kind.

Some of you may know I was not only a mechanical engineering university academic at NTU, after my retirement, I have also been an artist.  For the latter, I do sculptures and oil paintings.  I do them only for my own enjoyment, and for challenging my ability.  I do not aim to sell.  Thus over the years I have a collection of my own artwork which I've kept at home.

At NTU, some Depts are interested to display some of my paintings.  I let them make a selection and agreed to donate to them.   However NTU regards them as donations in kind to the U but displayed at the Dept. This central record system is administered by the previously mentioned Development Office (DO) with Marina as it's Director.

Some of my larger sculptures can also be donated.  My old dept MAE is interested in two.  One of them is nearly 11 ft tall.  Although I am not the artist, it is a full-size quality replica of a priceless marble statue called "Winged Victory" from ancient Greece more than 2000 years ago.  I insisted that it be placed in a high location.  Finally MAE has to engage a hydraulic lifting crane to lift and place it correctly.
